Psychologist
I became a psychologist because I like exploring how to make the most of the ups and downs of life and helping others do the same. I have a background in research, helpline counselling, and correctional settings, where I have worked with people from all walks of life in a range of challenging situations.
If you decide to work with me, I will first listen carefully to you to understand your experience of what you’re going through. From there, we can use evidence-based psychological approaches as needed. Depending on your goals and preferences, we may use cognitive behavioural approaches to explore how your pattern of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours might be keeping you stuck, where that pattern might have come from, and how you can change it. We may also use mindfulness-based approaches or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help you develop a new relationship with your thoughts and feelings, so that you feel more free to act in line with what’s most important to you. Whatever we use to help you achieve your goals, I will maintain a nonjudgmental and collaborative approach as the foundation.
