Kia ora, Selamat, and Merhaba!
A little about me – I was born in Malaysia and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau since I was one. ‘Merhaba’ is especially meaningful to me as my husband is from Türkiye and over the past 11 years of traveling there, I’ve developed a deep connection to Turkish culture, which has become an important part of my cultural identity.
With over a decade of experience across clinic, family, and residential settings, I work with parents, whānau, residential staff, and neurodiverse children, young people, and adults. I bring a culturally responsive lens to my work, having lived in Dubai for several years, and travelled across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. My lived experience provides me with a deep appreciation of the complexities of parenting, family dynamics, and cultural identity. I appreciate how identity, relationships, and well-being are shaped by different cultural experiences, and I strive to create an empathetic and culturally attuned space where individuals feel understood and supported.
As a registered psychologist, I specialise in:
- Parent coaching providing practical, evidence-based strategies and programs, e.g., Triple P to navigate challenges, strengthen parent-child relationships, and support parent and child’s emotional and behavioural development.
- Behavioural strategies and intervention with an overarching aim to improve the quality of life of the individual, through goal setting, skill-building, and evidence-based approaches to support behaviour change.
- Emotional regulation, anxiety, and stress management, providing psychoeducation and tailored interventions that are developmentally appropriate and neurodiverse affirming.
- Therapeutic approaches using evidence-based approaches – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing to help individuals with mental health and trauma navigate change, build skills, and develop resilience.
- Burnout and self-care support fostering a holistic approach to support individuals understand and navigate life challenges across various domains of their well-being integrating self-compassion and mindfulness techniques.
- Maternal well-being to support mothers with the transition to motherhood (Matrescence) accompanied by physical and psychological changes that occur during this transformative phase.
If you’re looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, I’d love to help. Let’s work together to create meaningful change.
