Julia Kwon

Counsellor

Kia ora, I am Julia. I am an NZAC-registered counsellor with 17 years of clinical experience, and I also work as a supervisor.

Born and raised in South Korea, I have called New Zealand home since 2000. Drawing on my lived experience across both cultures, I specialise in supporting Korean clients, while also working with clients from other Asian backgrounds. My areas of practice include trauma, anxiety, burnout, depression, grief, and relationship challenges.

At times, the challenges we face leave us feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. Yet, I believe that each person has the capacity for healing, growth, and renewed connection with themselves. To support you in this process, I offer a safe, warm, and collaborative space where you can feel genuinely heard and supported.

Because each person’s experiences and needs are unique, I do not take a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I draw on Person-Centred Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches to tailor our work to you and what matters most in your life.

My aim is to help you reconnect with your authentic voice, rediscover hope, and strengthen your overall wellbeing.

Wherever you are on your journey, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
