Our providers offer a wide range of counselling and therapy services tailored to your unique needs. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or other mental health concerns, we provide a safe and empathetic space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. We are registered with ACC. Here are some of the modalities we offer:

ACC Sensitive Claims and Mental Injury
Mind Garage boasts an experienced team of clinicians accredited to provide assessments and therapy for individuals who have experienced sexual trauma. These services are open to both adults and children in New Zealand, regardless of when the trauma occurred. Fully funded by ACC, the support is accessible whenever you feel ready to begin. Additionally, support services are available for your family and whānau, ensuring comprehensive care for all affected individuals.
Mind Garage acknowledges that while most ACC claims typically involve physical injuries, mental conditions or “mental injuries” can also be covered under certain circumstances. These claims provide treatment for mental injuries that arise due to personal physical injuries. For instance, a physical injury can lead to mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and others. Mind Garage does not offer treatment for physical injuries themselves, as these are managed by relevant qualified practitioners. However, if an ACC client experiences a mental injury as a result of a personal physical injury covered by ACC, they may extend that cover to include assessment and treatment of the mental injury. If you find yourself in these circumstances, feel free to contact us to discuss your situation, or you can request your ACC Case Manager to reach out to Mind Garage directly.

Individual Therapy
At Mind Garage, individual therapy involves a collaborative process between a client and therapist, aimed at achieving specific objectives and goals. This form of therapy is valuable for resolving conflicts, exploring and modifying historical behaviors and thoughts that impede daily functioning, and enhancing emotional resilience. While therapy is grounded in various theories, most professionals concur that the primary healing component is the therapeutic relationship. Establishing a comfortable and trusting relationship with your therapist is crucial for the therapeutic process.
Despite societal stigmas, seeking mental health care is a proactive step towards personal growth and well-being. While some may believe that only those with severe mental health issues seek counseling, many individuals can benefit from therapy to address change, growth, problem resolution, and overall life satisfaction. Therapy can assist with a variety of challenges, including relationship issues, family dynamics, anxiety, addiction, depression, learning disorders, career concerns, loneliness, aging, experiences of oppression, sexual assault, abuse, body image, stress, financial insecurity, declining health, grief, and self-esteem.
Intense Trauma Treatment Program
Turning Tides Enterprises, a sister company of Mind Garage, offers an intensive treatment programme for (Complex) Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), aimed at individuals struggling with the effects of trauma. Our programme, inspired by a highly effective and evidence-based model in the Netherlands, provides a comprehensive approach to healing from complex trauma.
Lasting approximately 2-4 days, our programme features daily therapy sessions tailored to the individual, including evidence-based treatments like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, Pronlonged Exposure, and other trauma-focused interventions based on movement. These therapies are administered by our experienced team of trauma therapists and physical activity instructors in a nurturing and safe environment.
The Turning Tides’ programme emphasizes empowering individuals to take control of their lives and understand the impact of trauma on their mental and physical well-being. Psycho-education sessions are also included to enhance understanding of trauma and its effects.
The programme is designed to achieve high success rates in treating CPTSD, helping individuals break free from the cycle of trauma and regain a sense of agency in their lives.
